Once again, Harpers have joined forces with Speller Metcalfe to meet this month’s Procure Partnerships Framework social value theme of getting young people into employment.
We were kindly invited to Tenbury High Ormiston Academy to meet both their current and upcoming students. The careers evening allowed us and the other local businesses to share information about our industries, allowing the students to start thinking about potential careers and their next steps in education.
Not only were we able to promote careers in construction and the many and varied jobs that are available, together we were able to represent the 16% of women who currently make up the industry, demonstrating the inclusivity of both men and women across the sector.
We hope that we have been able to inspire the next generation of construction professionals and change the perception of a career in construction.
