Last week we had the pleasure of welcoming the Level 1 brickwork students from Walsall College onto site at Hollybank Road, a development of 5 houses being constructed on behalf of Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust.
The students had the opportunity to lay some bricks, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge to a real-life situation.
They also had the opportunity to learn about the topography of the site, and how the development had been set out in preparation for the brickwork to commence.
Industry visits are vital, allowing the students to learn from skilled trades, whilst also understanding the pressures that are experienced on a construction site.
We are proud to have supported the college, contributing to the students’ industry placement learning, and highlighting the benefits of a career in the construction industry.
