Members of the Council received an informative tour of our sustainable site in Rowley Regis.
Councillors Kerrie Carmichael and Suzanne Hartwell from Sandwell Council were invited along with Chief Executive, Amanda Tomlinson, of Black Country Housing Group, to have a close-up view of this upcoming development.
Having been approved unanimously by the Planning Committee in the early stages, this affordable-rent scheme will see 42 one and two-bedroom residential apartments replace the derelict Regis Lodge that once occupied the brownfield site.
These new homes will be at or below 100% of the local market rent, with the costs of maintaining the apartments as well as internal and external communal areas included. The project also includes the provision of 33 car parking spaces, cycle storage and electric vehicle charging points.
It was a pleasure to showcase the positive benefits this development will have on the wider community and we were overwhelmed with the appreciation of our efforts. There was great enthusiasm for the project and we are excited to see how it develops over the coming months.
