J Harper & Sons have recently completed a Project to construct 14 new dwellings for English Rural Housing Association at The Sunground in Avening, a Cotswold village between Stroud and Cirencester. Randall Simmonds carried out the Employer’s Agent, Clerk of Works and Principal Designer roles on the Project.
The Project was an excellent example of real team effort and co-operation with a clear goal to produce a quality product for the Housing Association and their residents. First impressions of the completed Project on arrival on site are very welcoming, a clear indication of quality and a great enhancement to the street scene as it bookends the existing residential area bordered by woodland and recreational areas. It is most definitely the creation of a place with a desire to live there and become part of the wider rural community. The integration of a new access to the Playgroup works particularly well.
The resultant finished Project is one that clearly demonstrates examples of added value being incorporated into the dwellings and the wider site environment and we expect that members of the Team will proudly include the Project prominently on their website or front cover of their next Annual Report.
